Well Street and Vicar Lane

Well Street Visualisation people walking on pavement in the city centre

Last updated 21 March 2024

What is happening here?

Our team have been creating new bus hubs as well as making the area easier to get around for those on foot by closing a couple of roads to traffic, including Currer Street (at its junction with Well Street), Vicar Lane (at its junction with Hall Ings), and George Street (at its junction with Leeds Road).

There has been work to the pavement outside of the Job Centre and to the junction of Vicar Lane/Leeds Road to enable buses and taxis to enter and exit the junction.

There has also been changes that enable Well Street to be used for public transport and taxis.

Please see the map below for more details.

Which roads are affected?
