Final touches progress
As the transformation of the city centre nears its completion, final touches continue to be made. This week, planting has continued at Jacobs Well and Bridge Street.
The construction team also continue to make good progress in the Norfolk Gardens area, which is the final piece of transformation work in the city centre.

Reminders
Drake Street junction reopening this afternoon
The temporary road closure at Drake Street via Hall Ings will be lifted as planned this afternoon (Friday 24 January). The junction will reopen to general traffic following the completion of essential footway and cycleway works.
With the reopening of Drake Street, the temporary suspension of the Bridge Street bus lane will end, and the bus lane will be reinstated for buses and permitted vehicles only.
Thank you for your patience while these improvements were carried out.
Bradford Interchange Bus Station now open
Earlier this month, Bradford Interchange bus station reopened to the public, and bus services are now operating from the upper concourse.
Due to ongoing resurfacing works, around six bus stands will stay out of action until at least April 2025. Therefore, some bus services will remain on-street until that time.
This week’s construction, traffic, and access updates
Traffic management
There are currently no active or planned traffic management measures in place in the city centre. Most of the transformation works were completed in December 2024, and the newly pedestrianised streets are fully open to the public.
