City Centre Access Changes, Westgate Consultation & Our New Website
Our last Future Bradford newsletter was sent out in April 2025, when the opening of Norfolk Gardens marked the completion of Bradford's city centre transformation.
Since then, we have been hard at work giving the newsletter and Future Bradford website a fresh new look.
You can find out more about the refreshed Future Bradford website further on in this e-newsletter.

Engagement on updated Bradford City Centre Access Policy
Bradford Council is launching an engagement period on the updated Bradford City Centre Access Policy.
This updated policy follows the recent transformation and pedestrianisation of large parts of the city centre. It has been developed to support the newly expanded pedestrian zone, ensuring the city centre is safe, welcoming and accessible for all who live, work and visit.
Further details about the policy, including maps, can be found at www.future-bradford.co.uk/city-centre-access-policy
The access policy will come into force later this year.
How to provide feedback
We want to hear from City Centre residents, businesses and visitors on the changes to the Bradford City Centre Access Policy. Your feedback matters and will help us refine the policy.
Please take 10 minutes to complete the survey and share your thoughts.
The survey asks for your thoughts on how the changes might impact you, your experience of the city centre’s recent transformation, and any additional considerations you think we should take into account before the policy is implemented.
The engagement period will run from Friday 26 September to 11:59pm on Thursday 23 October 2025. Complete the feedback survey by visiting our website at www.future-bradford.co.uk/city-centre-access-policy
Once this engagement period closes, a summary report will be published on the Future Bradford website. Your input will help refine the final version of the policy once it is implemented.
We also have a freephone line, freepost address and email address so that you can get in touch to ask any questions about the policy and give feedback. Our contact details are:
By email: info@future-bradford.co.uk
By telephone: 0808 196 9119 (open 9am-5pm excluding bank holidays)
By post: ‘Freepost BFD Highways’ (no stamp required)
Business breakfast event
Own or run a business in the city centre? We are hosting a free business breakfast event to give local businesses the opportunity to ask questions and share feedback on how the policy may affect them.
We understand that many businesses may have specific access needs, and this event is a chance to raise those concerns directly.
The event will take place on Wednesday 1 October 2025 8am to 10am at The Light Cinema, Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 1JR.
If you own or run a business in the city centre and you’d like to attend, please RSVP through the link below.
Have your say on Westgate Bus Hotspot proposals
Bradford Council, in partnership with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, is proposing improvements to Westgate (between John Street and White Abbey Road) to improve bus reliability in this known bus delay hotspot.
Share your views on the proposed improvements by 11:59pm on Sunday 12 October 2025. Your feedback will help shape the plans before they’re submitted for the next phase of approvals.
